New Learning, based in Dubai, has partnered with European company Erasmus Center for Entrepreneurship to set up a new entrepreneurship training center in the United Arab Emirates.

Located in Dubai, the SD Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence (SDCEE) will offer courses to future entrepreneurs as well as existing executives.

The facility will support entrepreneurs and encourage them to identify business opportunities, develop and implement their business ideas and develop a strong network, according to a statement.

The programs offered will benefit nascent, start-up and large-scale entrepreneurs and the topics covered in entrepreneurship learning will include general topics such as new business creation, growth and internationalization strategies, entrepreneurial finance, family businesses, impact investing and social entrepreneurship and corporate finance.

The facility will also offer other initiatives such as conferences, internships, networking events and support for venture capital funding, as well as mentoring sessions, competitions and entrepreneur days, where individuals would be encouraged to sell their products and ideas.

It will be managed by professors and researchers from the Erasmus Center for Entrepreneurship and others from the GCC region.

“We believe that anyone can become an entrepreneur and we will develop their mindset and skills, and embrace their purpose and become impactful leaders through an innovative and entrepreneurial approach,” said Martin Luxemburg, Managing Director of the Erasmus Center for entrepreneurship.

Shailesh Dash, board member and mentor of Newage Learning, added that the center will evolve and expand to meet the growing demand for programs and entrepreneurial experiences in the region.

The UAE has focused on growing entrepreneurship in the country through several new initiatives and policy changes.

In September, the country launched a new international campaign titled “United Global Emirates” to highlight the benefits and incentives offered by the UAE to help entrepreneurs go global.

The campaign will also highlight the benefits for entrepreneurs, startups and investors of all sizes and at all stages of choosing the UAE as their launch platform.
