In 2021, PA continued to deliver exciting work in consumer and manufacturing, defense and security, energy and utilities, financial services, government and utilities, health and life sciences and transportation. During the year, PA also continued to hire world-class talent and redoubled its investment in creating a culture where its people excel.

The completion of Jacobs’ strategic investment in March 2021 marked the start of a successful new chapter for PA. Jacobs’ complementary capabilities have further strengthened PA’s ability to provide innovative solutions to its customers.

Innovate for customers

PA pursued its objective of bringing ingenuity to life to build a positive human future delivering exceptional work to our clients in an ever-changing world. It has a unique range of experts – strategists, innovators, designers, consultants, digital experts, scientists, engineers and technologists – capable of delivering end-to-end innovation, together with its customers.

In 2021, PA designed the UK’s new electric vehicle charging station concept for accelerating the transition to electric vehicles in global efforts against climate change.

The AP has also partnered with Unilever to rapidly scale its workforce strategy, protecting employees as the pandemic gathers pace. Together, PA and Unilever designed a state-of-the-art digital tool that provided real-time and predictive insights from a global and regional level down to individual Unilever sites.

PA partner of a start-up wild type to market its lab-raised sustainable salmon to preserve the environment while meeting consumer demand, and enabled clean energy innovation for the wind turbine maker, Vesta.

PA partners with an American start-up Bearpac Medical to develop a device to improve the comfort of end-of-life patients in healthcare, and created a groundbreaking virtual reality “museum of the future” with the UK Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), to explore future operating environments.

Invest in people

PA employees bring real-world skills and experience to meet its customers’ biggest challenges. In 2021, PA welcomed 1,392 people, including 50 new partners. PA has hired a series of new senior leaders, including, in 2021, John Cala to lead his Americas team, John Edson as US Head of Design and Engineering, and Aris Karcanias as Global Head of Energy and Utilities. So far in 2022, the PA has hosted Tracey Countryman as Head of Markets, Rina Ladva as Head of Alliances, Platforms and Products, Charlene Li as director of research, Will Lambe as Chief Financial Officer and Kelly Olson as Chief Information Officer. Their appointments will further accelerate PA’s rapid growth.

Ensuring the personal and professional growth, well-being and fulfillment of PA people is central to the PA people strategy. In 2021, PA expanded its mentoring and virtual learning opportunities through the PA Academy. It rolled out company-wide Race Allyship training, launched its Women in Leadership program and continued to grow its employee networks, including Mental Health & Wellbeing, Military, Pride, RISE (Racial Inclusion and Social Equity) and Women’s network.

2021 has also seen PAs continue to give back to their communities, volunteering their skills and experience for the good of society. AP interns were invited to take on real technology challenges — from creating more cost-effective diagnostic devices to designing a global asset tracking system — at its global innovation and technology center in Cambridge, United Kingdom. And PA has helped disadvantaged students develop leadership skills through its ‘Springboard’ work experience programs in the UK and the US. Its Women in Tech team trained women in digital skills, while its ninth Raspberry Pi competition promoted STEM education by encouraging schoolchildren in the UK and the Netherlands using a Raspberry Pi microcomputer to innovate during the pandemic.

At the end of 2021, PA also created the PA Foundation. PA will work with the PA Foundation to develop and inspire people, especially those who are disadvantaged, to be the innovators and leaders of tomorrow, applying their ingenuity to solve the world’s greatest challenges. PA has committed £10 million over the next five years to the PA Foundation as well as 10,000 hours of skills-based volunteering in its first year, to amplify the impact of its giving and support work. volunteering.
