The postdoctoral fellow position is a temporary position whose main objective is to qualify for work in senior academic positions.

We are looking for someone to be part of a research group studying how the increase in post-consumer scrap content in aluminum affects manufacturing processes, the mechanical properties of the material and the end product as well as the performance of the aluminum. life cycle.

You will be part of the recent research project, AluGreen, owned by Norsk Hydro ASA and funded by the Norwegian Research Council and a consortium of 16 industrial partners. In addition, this project aligns with long-term research programs such as SFI PhysMet and NAPIC (NTNU Aluminum Product Innovation Center).

You will report to the professor.

The duties of the post

  • perform theoretical and experimental work related to product life cycle performance, circular material flows, business models and manufacturing networks
  • support doctoral and MSc students working in the AluGreen research project as well as the research group
  • contribute to project meetings, workshops, seminars, etc.
  • conduct academic writing and publish the results of the project in recognized peer-reviewed journals

Selection criteria required

  • You must have obtained a Norwegian doctorate or a corresponding foreign doctorate recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian doctorate
  • You must have relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas: industrial ecology, industrial economics and technology management, mechanical and industrial engineering, manufacturing technology
  • Good command of English, written and spoken

The appointment is made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State employees and civil servants and national guidelines for appointment as PhD, post doctor and research assistant

Preferred selection criteria

  • understanding of how value chains can shift from a linear business model to a circular model, where existing business models can be rolled back for recyclability and scalability to different value chain actors who are currently poorly integrated
  • demonstrate knowledge of how to map and assess value chains, and collect and analyze information on materials, products and services that are important for the design of a circular and efficient value chain which includes the highest possible state of taxonomy 10R
  • ability to understand enabling technologies for material and product tracing in closed-loop value chain configurations
  • the ability to conduct high quality research and to publish the results in recognized peer-reviewed journals is an asset.

Salary and conditions

As a postdoctoral fellow (code 1352) you are normally paid from NOK 545,300 gross per year before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Civil Service Pension Fund.

The employment period is 2 years.

The engagement is carried out in accordance with the regulations in force concerning the agents of the State and the civil servants, and the acts relating to the control of the exports of goods, services and strategic technologies.
