They bought their first home together, a terraced house in Dublin’s Northside.

Starting from scratch, with no furniture or accessories, it was a blank canvas they were eager to put their mark on.

Arlene’s mandate was to transform it into a place to relax in the evening, entertain friends on weekends and provide a dream bathroom.

The couple had an initial budget of € 50,000 but after discovering problems with their boiler, it seemed close to € 80,000.

But Wes and Danny were thrilled with their renovation.

And the home fans agreed.

Mayor said: “#Designedforlife OMG this is a different house. It is beautiful.”

Others worried about the huge amount spent over budget.

Niamh wrote: “I know we said $ 50,000 but we’re close to $ 75,000 for the budget! Sweet Jesus! #Designedforlife.”

Sean added: “75k is just cracked. #Designedforlife.”
